Through the Wood, Laddie
I am thrilled to announce my new album, Through the Wood, Laddie, featuring a selection of my own original compositions and some of my own favorite traditional tunes.
The album title comes from an old traditional Scottish tune with the same name. To me it gives an ethos of a wild romantic highland tale. More than that, the title carries a double meaning as I recorded it on my violin, made by Ladislaus Kaplan in 1904, which I affectionately call “Laddie”.
Join me as I travel around the world, from Norway to Uganda to Israel, and discover new and exciting places. You’ll make new friends along the way and get to know some of my own dear family members. We’ll also travel into the realm of grand adventure. You’ll meet beloved figures like Helen Douglas, the Lady of the Lake from Sir Walter Scott’s work of the same title, and Captain Furocious, a daring chipmunk hero.
I also had the opportunity to collaborate with the 2018 US National Scottish Harp Champion, Stephanie Claussen. We recorded “The Lady of the Lake” and an accompanying music video.
